A screen saver module for Berkeley Systems’ After Dark™.
Every non-toddler’s least favorite dinosaur finally gets his just desserts. With Barney Blaster installed on your system, the big purple guy will appear on your screen, chuckle (ugh), hop a few times (groan), and then, mercifully, be obliterated in one of three extremely violent ways. Then (doggone it) another Barney springs up and the cycle repeats. There’s also a non-violent mode for when Barney-adoring kids are in the room.
Barney Blaster requires a color Mac and System 6.0.7 or later. It will look its best in 256 colors or more, but also looks fine in 16 grays (16 color screens will automatically be set to 16 grays). Multi-monitor systems are supported.
If you access the module’s Help box (click near the little triangle at the bottom of After Dark’s window), you’ll see an advertisement for a package of three other After Dark modules. This package is called “Bunker’s Bizarre Blankers” and costs $10.00. If you like Barney Blaster, you’re sure to enjoy Bunker’s Bizarre Blankers too, so it’s well worth the small price. Barney Blaster and Bunker’s Bizarre Blankers were very favorably reviewed in the February, ’95 issue of Computer Life magazine, an event which -- judging from the mail and phone calls I got -- resulted in a huge amount of Mac-envy on the part of PC owners (BB and BBB are Mac-only). You’ve *GOT* a Mac (right?), so get in on the fun! Please note that Bunker’s Bizarre Blankers is only available by ordering directly from me; it’s not shareware. Barney Blaster itself is freeware, and you are welcome and encouraged to distribute it anywhere, to anyone, in any way.
